In 1956 the International Ambassador Club (IAC) was founded as a social networking club in Switzerland, and has admitted both men and women since 1996. It is an international association of friends with a shared world view, and has no national, political or religious affiliations. The IAC is managed by a President who is assisted by a General Secretary and Management Board in which representatives of the various member nations may be members.
National Ambassador Clubs (NACs) were set up first in European countries through the formative decades of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, expanding to Asia in the 1980s and the US in the 1990s. AMBASSADORS form a community which crosses international, national, and social borders. While international in flavor, club life is rooted firmly at the local level, in its broad network of Regional Ambassador Clubs (RACs).
Ambassadors work to create a global society of friendship based on shared humanitarian values and they meet around the world and facilitate the travel of fellow Ambassadors to meet that end.
